6H-Benzo[c]pyrene, also known as 6H-benzo[c]pyrene, is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) with the molecular formula C22H12. It is a potent carcinogen and mutagen, classified as a Group 1 carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). This chemical compound consists of five fused benzene rings and one pyrene ring, making it a highly stable and persistent environmental pollutant. 6H-Benzo[c]pyrene is primarily formed during the incomplete combustion of organic materials, such as coal, wood, and tobacco, and can be found in air, water, and soil. Due to its lipophilic nature, it can accumulate in the food chain and pose significant health risks to humans and animals, including causing various types of cancer.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 191-33-3 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 1,9 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 191-33:
(5*1)+(4*9)+(3*1)+(2*3)+(1*3)=53
53 % 10 = 3
So 191-33-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

The synthesis and STM/AFM imaging of 'Olympicene' benzo[cd]pyrenes

supporting information, p. 2011 - 2018 (2015/01/30)

H-Benzo[cd ]pyrene ('Olympicene') is a polyaromatic hydrocarbon and non-Kekul fragment of graphene. A new synthetic method has been developed for the formation of 6H-benzo[cd]pyrene and related ketones including the first time isolation of the unstable alcohol 6H-benzo[cd]pyren-6-ol. Molecular imaging of the reaction products with scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) and non-contact atomic force microscopy (NC-AFM) characterised the 6H-benzo[cd]pyrene as well as the previously intangible and significantly less stable 5 H-benzo[cd ]pyrene, the fully conjugated benzo[cd]pyrenyl radical and the ketones as oxidation products.
