Novel rhodium complexes with N-pyrrolphosphines: attractive precursors of hydroformylation catalysts

New rhodium(I) complexes with N-pyrrolylphosphine ligands of formula > 1a, > 1b, > 1c, 2> 2a, 2> 2b and 2> 2c (acac = acetylacetonate) have been found to be precursors of very active and selective hydroformylation catalysts as 3> 3a, 3> 3b and 3> 3c respectively, which at 60 deg C and 10 atm H2-CO produce 80-90percent of aldehydes with n:iso 4-31:1.
