1-Bromo-4-iodoperfluorobutane is a halogenated perfluorocarbon compound with the chemical formula C4BrF9I. It consists of a butane molecule with four fluorine atoms, one bromine atom, and one iodine atom attached to it. The bromine and iodine atoms are positioned at the first and fourth carbon atoms, respectively. 1-bromo-4-iodoperfluorobutane is characterized by its high electronegativity, low reactivity, and unique physical properties, such as low boiling point and high chemical stability. Due to its perfluorinated nature, 1-bromo-4-iodoperfluorobutane exhibits low solubility in water and is resistant to hydrolysis. It has potential applications in various fields, including electronics, pharmaceuticals, and as a solvent or reagent in chemical reactions.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1959-88-2 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,9,5 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1959-88:
(6*1)+(5*9)+(4*5)+(3*9)+(2*8)+(1*8)=122
122 % 10 = 2
So 1959-88-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

IR multiple-photon dissociation of Br(CF2)4COI molecules by excitation via C=O (1794 cm-1) stretching and skeleton (961 cm-1) vibrations

Dem'yanenko,Ryabov,Letokhov

, p. 277 - 283 (1998)

Dissociation of Br(CF2)4COI molecules resulting from infrared multiple-photon excitation (IR-MPE) by the second (via C=O stretch) and the first (via skeleton vibrations) harmonics of TEA CO2 laser was studied. It was found that in the two cases of IR-MPE, dissociation occurs via two distinct channels with the formation of C2F4 and Br(CF2)4I molecules as final products. At the same time, the relative ratio of these final products was found to depend on the channel of molecular excitation.
