Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 199165-92-9 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,9,9,1,6 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 199165-92:
(8*1)+(7*9)+(6*9)+(5*1)+(4*6)+(3*5)+(2*9)+(1*2)=189
189 % 10 = 9
So 199165-92-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A ratiometric CdSe/ZnS nanocrystal pH sensor

Snee, Preston T.,Somers, Rebecca C.,Nair, Gautham,Zimmer, John P.,Bawendi, Moungi G.,Nocera, Daniel G.

, p. 13320 - 13321 (2006)

The development of a reversible chemical sensor based on a CdSe/ZnS nanocrystal (NC) is described. Signal transduction is accomplished by fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) between the NC and a fluorescent pH-sensitive squaraine dye attached to

Efficient detection of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and polychlorinated biphenyls via three-component energy transfer

Serio, Nicole,Miller, Kayla,Levine, Mindy

supporting information, p. 4821 - 4823 (2013/06/27)

Reported herein is the detection of highly toxic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) via proximity-induced non-covalent energy transfer. This energy transfer occurs in the cavity of γ-cyclodextrin, and is efficient even with the most toxic PAHs and least fluorescent PCBs. The low limits of detection and potential for selective detection using array-based systems, combined with the straightforward experimental setup, make this new detection method particularly promising.

Synthesis and photochemical properties of a new water-soluble coumarin, designed as a chromophore for highly water-soluble and photolabile protecting group

Senda, Naoko,Momotake, Atsuya,Nishimura, Yoshinobu,Arai, Tatsuo

, p. 1753 - 1757 (2007/10/03)

The absorption spectra and fluorescence spectra of a coumarin derivative (1), designed to be a water-soluble photolabile protecting group for caged compounds, were successfully observed in aqueous buffer solutions at pH 2.0-12.5 for the first time. Coumar

Chemosensing in deep red: A squaraine-based fluorescent chemosensor for pH

Isgor, Yasemin G.,Akkaya, Engin U.

, p. 7417 - 7420 (2007/10/03)

We have synthesized and spectrally characterized a squaraine-based fluorescent chemosensor for pH. This chemosensor unlike many others, works in 100% aqueous solutions, signalling the pH change from 10 to 7 by a 14-fold increase in the emission intensity
