The complexes Pd(PMePh2)4, Pd(PMe2Ph)4 and Pd(PiPr3)2 react with COS to give the (dithiocarbonato-S,S')palladium(II) compounds (PR3)2Pd(S2CO) (1 - 3).The trimethylphosphane complex (PMe3)2Pd(S2CO) (4) is obtained by ligand displacement from 1 - 3 and PMe3.Compound 4 is also formed from BPh4 and COS via BPh4 as intermediate. The X-ray structure analysis of 2 shows a nearly square-planar coordination of the metal and also a planar dithiocarbonate ligand. The reactions of (PPh3)2Pt(η2-COS) with PMe3 or PMe2Ph lead to the formation of the (dithiocarbonato-S,S')platinum(II) complexes (PR3)2Pt(S2CO) (5,6).
