General Description

Di-tert-butyl-diethoxysilane is a chemical compound with the formula (C4H9)2Si(OC2H5)2. It is an organosilicon compound that is commonly used as a crosslinking agent in the production of silicone-based materials. Di-tert-butyl-diethoxysilane is a clear, colorless liquid with a sharp odor, and it is highly reactive with water. When it comes into contact with moisture, it hydrolyzes to produce silanol groups, which can then react further to form crosslinks in polysiloxane chains. This makes di-tert-butyl-diethoxysilane a useful component in the production of silicone elastomers, adhesives, and sealants, as well as in the modification of silicone resins for various industrial and commercial applications. Additionally, it is also used as a coupling agent in the adhesion of organic materials to inorganic surfaces.
