Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 204848-85-1 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 2,0,4,8,4 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 204848-85:
(8*2)+(7*0)+(6*4)+(5*8)+(4*4)+(3*8)+(2*8)+(1*5)=141
141 % 10 = 1
So 204848-85-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Homochiral compd. responsive, liquid crystal composition, and a liquid crystal element responsive

-

Paragraph 0054, (2016/12/07)

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable photoresponsive chiral compound capable of stably controlling a selective reflection wavelength after/before photoirradiation, a liquid crystal composition, and a photoresponsive liquid crystal element.SOLUTION: A photoresponsive chiral compound is a cyclic compound represented by chemical formula (1). The photosensitive chiral compound is converted into a tricyclic compound when intramolecular dimerization is induced by irradiation with active rays. A photoresponsive liquid crystal element is equipped with a cholesteric liquid crystal layer. The cholesteric liquid crystal layer includes the photoresponsive chiral compound and a liquid crystalline compound capable of developing a cholesteric liquid crystal phase by addition of the photoresponsive chiral compound.

Synthesis and thermally enhanced photoinduced orientation of liquid crystalline polymer possessing vinyl end group

Lee, Jeong-Hwan,Kawatsuki, Nobuhiro

, p. 19 - 29 (2008/03/12)

Methacrylate polymer liquid crystals containing p-substituted 4-cinnamoyloxybiphenyl (CB) side group were synthesized. Two vinyl end groups were introduced to investigate the influence of the end group on the photoinduced reorientation behavior. Thermally enhanced photoinduced orientation of polymer thin films was performed by irradiating with linearly polarized ultraviolet (LPUV) light and annealing. The reorientation behavior was evaluated by measuring the polarization absorption spectroscopy. When the degree of the photoreaction was around 10 mol%, the reorientation direction was parallel to the polarization of LPUV light for both polymer films. On the other hand, when the degree of the photoreaction was low, out-of-plane orientation was observed for the polymer with the longer end group.
