Available ylide Ph3P+-CHCN ? Ph3P=CHCN readily adds to 1,2,2,2-tetrachloroethyl isocyanate to give new biphilic reagent, which, together with the nucleophilic center of the ylide fragment, contais the strongly electrophilic >CClNHCO group. This reagent is suitable for preparing some other biphilic phosphonium ylides containing N-acylamino and enamide groups, which are capable of reaction with various nucleophiles. These reactions are sometimes accompamied by cyclizations, which yield, in particular, new 2,4,5-tri-substituted oxazole derivatives containing the stabilized ylide fragment PhP+-C(CN)- at the position 2.
