Heck reaction versus free radical reaction for the synthesis of spiro[indoline-2,4′-piperidines]

Spiro[indoline-2,4′-piperidines] can be prepared from 2-bromoaniline by using a Heck reaction or a free radical reaction as the key step. The radical process produces better yields of spiro[indoline-2,4′-piperidines] than the Heck process.
