Oxatetragermolane, octaphenyl-, also known as octaphenylgermanate(2-), is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C48H36GeO6. It is a derivative of germanate, which is a compound containing the germanium atom in its +4 oxidation state. This particular compound features four germanium atoms, each bonded to six oxygen atoms, forming a tetrahedral structure. The octaphenylgermanate(2-) ion is a complex anion with eight phenyl groups (C6H5) attached to the germanium atoms, giving it a large, symmetrical structure. Oxatetragermolane, octaphenyl- is of interest in the field of organometallic chemistry and materials science, where it may be studied for its unique electronic and structural properties.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 2117-74-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,1,1 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2117-74:
(6*2)+(5*1)+(4*1)+(3*7)+(2*7)+(1*4)=60
60 % 10 = 0
So 2117-74-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

UEBER POLYGERMANE. III. OCTAPHENYL-CHALKOGENATETRAGERMACYCLOPENTANE, HETEROCYCLEN AUF GERMANIUMBASIS

Ross, Ludwig,Draeger, Martin

, p. 23 - 32 (2007/10/02)

A complete series of 5-membered heterocycles (Ph2Ge)4X with X=O, S, Se and Te has been prepared and investigated by mass spectra, 13C NMR spectra and vibrational spectra. The 13C signals of the phenyl groups in the compounds (Ph2Ge)4X were compared with the related values in the homocycle (Ph2Ge)5.Frequency values for the symmetrical and asymmetrical stretching vibrations of the units Ge-Ge-Ge and Ge-X-Ge are given. The crystal structure of the compound (Ph2Ge)4S has been determined and refined to a R of 0.051.The 5-membered ring Ge4S exhibits envelope conformation.
