Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 212249-81-5 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 2,1,2,2,4 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 212249-81:
(8*2)+(7*1)+(6*2)+(5*2)+(4*4)+(3*9)+(2*8)+(1*1)=105
105 % 10 = 5
So 212249-81-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Aluminum Phenylphosphonates: A Fertile Family of Compounds

Cabeza, Aurelio,Aranda, Miguel A. G.,Bruque, Sebastian,Poojary, Damodara M.,Clearfield, Abraham,Sanz, Jesus

, p. 4168 - 4178 (1998)

Six aluminum phenylphosphonates have been synthesized depending upon the synthetic conditions: Al2(O3PC6H5) 3·2H2O (I), Al2(O3PC6H5)3 (II), α-Al(HO3PC6H5)(O3PC 6H5)·H2O (III), β-Al(HO3PC6H5)(O3PC 6H5)·H2O (IV), Al(HO3PC6H5)3·H2O (V), and Al(OH)(O3PC6H5) (VI). Thermal analysis, X-ray powder thermodiffractometry, IR spectroscopy, and 27Al and 31P MAS NMR data have been obtained to study the structure and thermal stability of these materials. III crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group Pbca, with a = 9.7952(1) A?, b = 29.3878(4) A?, c = 9.3537(3) A?, and Z = 8. The structure was solved ab initio, from synchrotron data (λ ≈ 0.4 A?), using direct methods, and refined by Rietveld methods. The final agreement factors were RwP = 6.73%, RP = 5.24%, and RF = 6.8%. The compound is layered with the aluminum atoms in an octahedral environment of oxygens and two crystallographically independent phosphonate groups, one being protonated. The powder patterns of V and VI have been indexed, and the experimental observations are consistent with layered structures. The unit cell of V contains one octahedral site for Al and three tetrahedral sites for P. Phosphonate I seems to have a three-dimensional tubular structure with aluminum atoms in both octahedral and tetrahedral environments and phosphorus atoms in three different types of sites.

Synthesis and structural studies of layered aluminum phenylphosphonate

Haky,Brady,Dando,Weaver

, p. 297 - 303 (2008/10/08)

A new aluminum phenylphosphonate compound with the formula AlH(C6H5PO3)2·H2O was obtained by refluxing a mixture of aluminum nitrate and excess phenylphosphonic acid in water. The compound was characterized by elemental analysis, thermal gravimetry, X-ray powder diffraction, and 27Al nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. It has a pillared layered structure containing only octahedrally coordinated aluminum atoms, with an interlayer spacing of approx. 15 angstrom.
