The fluorination of metal stannates
Moehs, Peter J.,Haendler, Helmut M.
, p. 2115 - 2118 (1968)
The reaction of fluorine at about 500° with a series of anhydrous metal stannates has been studied. The resultant anhydrous fluorostannates are MgSnF6, CaSnF6, SrSnF6, BaSnF6, CoSnF6, NiSnF6, CuSnF6, ZnSnF6, CdSnF6, MnSnF8, and PbSnF8. The hexafluorostannates contain the SnF62- anion, and X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy have been used to postulate structures for some of these compounds.
