Bis[2-phenyl-1,2-dicarba-closo-dodecaboran-1-yl(12)]phenylphosphine (2) was obtained in 91% yield from phenyldichlorophosphine and two equivalents of 1-lithium-2-phenyl-1,2-dicarba-closo-dodecaborane(12) in ether and characterized by spectroscopy (31P, 11B, 1H, 13C NMR; IR) and by X-ray structure determination.
