Reactions

Metathesis catalyst, stable in air and can be used in aqueous media. Catalyst of choice for the ring-opening metathesis polymerization of cycloolefins. Catalyst concentration 2-3 times lower than comparable phenyl and vinyl substituted ruthenium carbenes. Excellent initiator for solvent-free polymerization and control of initiation rates and gelation times. Highly selective catalyst for the ring opening/cross-metathesis of norbornene derivatives.
