(-)-O-Methyldauricine is an isoquinoline derivative extracted from plants and display antibacterial activity. In addition, it has been shown to modulate chloroquine resistance in Plasmodium falciparum.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 2202-17-7 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,2,0 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2202-17:
(6*2)+(5*2)+(4*0)+(3*2)+(2*1)+(1*7)=37
37 % 10 = 7
So 2202-17-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

DAURICINE PRODUCTION IN CULTURED ROOTS OF MENISPERMUM DAURICUM
Sugimoto, Yukihiro,Yoshida, Akihiko,Uchida, Shinji,Inanaga, Shinobu,Yamada, Yasuyuki
, p. 679 - 684 (1994)
Root cultures of Menispermum dauricum were established from adventitious roots formed on the leaf segments. These roots produce dauricine as a major constituent and the optimum conditions for dauricine production in cultured roots were investigated. a dauricine content of more than 0.5percent dry weight was achieved in Gamborg's B5 medium containing 3percent surcose and 7.5 μM NAA.Tyrosine and tyramine, possible precursors of dauricinine, increased dauricine formation. There was a positive correlation between dauricine content and root growth.
