The invention discloses a preparation method of a disperse dye composition. The composition includes a dye and a dispersant, wherein a mass ratio of the dispersant to the dye is in a range of 0.5:1 to 2.5:1. The dye comprises 20-65% of a component A, 15-50% of a component B, and 15-55% of a component C, wherein the percentage of each component is the mass percentage of the component to the dye. The component A is one or more kinds of a compound 1 shown in the description; the component B is one or more kinds of a compound 2 shown in the description; and the component C is a compound 3 and/or a compound 4 shown in the description. The preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing the component A, the component B, the component C, and the dispersant with water; performing micro-granulation, and performing spray-drying to obtain the composition. The method is simple to operate. The composition obtained from the preparation method is high in color yield of printing and excellent in deep dyeing property, improvement, and fastness; staining on a white base is obviously improved; and the residual amount of chlorinated phenol after printing is low.
