This invention relates to novel heterocyclic derivatives of the formula (VII), (VIII) or (IX) in which P, Q, R1-R6, m and n are as defined in the specification, and to pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The compounds and pharmaceutical compositions containing them are useful in the treatment of a range of disorders including epilepsy, faintness attacks, hypokinesia, cranial disorders, depression, anxiety, panic, pain, neuropathological disorders, inflammatory diseases and gastrointestinal disorders, especially irritable bowel syndrome.
