New phosphonic diamides and phosphinic amides of the 4,7,10-triaza- 1λ5-phosphabicyclo[5.3.0]decane and 4,7,10-triaza-1λ5- phosphabicyclo[5.5.0]dodecane structures were prepared from bicyclic phosphoric triamides via the lithiation-induced N→C migration of phosphorus, followed by proton or haloalkane quenching.
Metallation-induced migration of phosphorus from nitrogen to carbon in 1-oxo-2,8-diphenyl-2,5,8-triaza-1λ5-phosphabicyclo[3.3.0]octane: Unusual bonding parameters of the double migration product

The title compound undergoes lithiation-induced rearrangement, first to a bicyclic phosphonic diamide, and next to a bicyclic phosphinic amide; for the latter product an unusually long phosphoryl bond was observed.
Bicyclic organophosphorus amides. Nucleophilic cleavage of 1-oxo-2,3- benzo-10-phenyl-4,7,10-triaza-1λ5-phosphabicyclo[5.3.0]decane and its p- anisyl analogues

Methanolysis of the title substrates leads to different products depending on the conditions: in the presence of HCl both P-N bonds are broken yielding a non-cyclic phosphonic diester while the MeO- ion reacts selectively breaking the P-N(Ar) bond and yielding a cyclic, seven-membered phosphonic amidoester.
