Peimine is a steroidal alkaloid compound that can be extracted from the Fritillaria species of medicinal plants. It was originally given the chemical formula C19H33O2N or C19H35O2N, and it possesses a specific rotation of [α]10D -10.66° (EtOH). This alkaloid is characterized by the presence of three non-phenolic hydroxyl groups and a tertiary nitrogen atom. Chi and his colleagues have identified the alkaloid as being identical to Peimine.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 23496-41-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,3,4,9 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 23496-41:
(7*2)+(6*3)+(5*4)+(4*9)+(3*6)+(2*4)+(1*1)=115
115 % 10 = 5
So 23496-41-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

STEROID ALKALOIDS OF FRESH BULBS OF FRITILLARIA THUNBERGII MIQ. AND OF CRUDE DRUG "BAI-MO" PREPARED THEREFROM

Kitajima, Junichi,Noda, Naoki,Ida, Yoshiteru,Miyahara, Kazumoto,Kwasaki, Toshio

, p. 791 - 796 (2007/10/02)

A new minor alkaloid FR-5 was isolated, besides verticine (I) and verticinone (II), from the fresh bulbs of Fritillaria thunbergii Miq., and the structure was determined as III.The crude drug "Bai-mo", which was prepared from the above bulbs by treatment with lime followed by bleaching in the sun, provided two alkaloids F-3 and -4, together with I and II, in the free state, and additional two F-5 and -6 in the form of their acetates. They were assigned the structures VIII, IX, X and XI, which correspond, respectively, to an oxidation product of I,II and III.

Isobaimonidine, a New Fritillaria Alkaloid from the Aerial Part of Fritillaria verticillata

Kaneko, Ko,Naruse, Nobuaki,Haruki, Kimiaki,Mitsuhashi, Hiroshi

, p. 1345 - 1346 (2007/10/02)

The third epimer of verticine, isobaimonidine, was isolated from the aerial part of Fritillaria verticillata, and its absolute configuration was chemically determined as (22S,25S)-5α-cevanine-3α,6α,20β-triol.Keywords -- Liliaceae; Fritillaria verticillata; a new Fritillaria alkaloid; a epimer of verticine; 5α-cevanine-3α-ol series; alkaloid from aerial part
