Use of triazine derivatives for protecting maize and sorghum plants

There are described triazine derivatives of the formula I STR1 wherein R1, R2 and R3 independently of one another are each C1 -C5 -alkyl which is unsubstituted or monosubstituted by C3 -C6 -cycloalkyl, or mono- or polysubstituted by halogen, or is C3 -C6 - cycloalkyl which is unsubstituted or mono- or polysubstituted by halogen, or one of the substituents R1, R2 and R3 is also halogen or --NR4 R5, in which R4 is hydrogen or C1 -C5 -alkyl and R5 is hydrogen, C1 -C5 -alkyl, monochloroacetyl or dichloroacetyl. The triazine derivatives are used for the protection of maize and sorghum plants against the harmful effects of herbicidal chloroacetanilides and chloroacetamides.
