These polymers have been prepared in various equivalent weights and processed into functional membranes. The new ionomers exhibit excellent chemical and thermal stability. The materials have high potential for electrochemical applications especially as solid polymer electrolytes (SPE) in proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells.
