(Trifluoromethyl)phosphonous dibromide, also known as bromophosphonic difluoromethyl bromide or CF3P(Br)2H, is a chemical compound that features a phosphorus atom bonded to a trifluoromethyl group (CF3) and two bromine atoms. This organophosphorus compound is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor and is sensitive to moisture and air. It is primarily used as a reagent in organic synthesis, particularly in the preparation of various phosphonates and as a precursor to other organophosphorus compounds. Due to its reactivity and potential toxicity, it is essential to handle (trifluoromethyl)phosphonous dibromide with caution and proper safety measures.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 2712-92-7 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,7,1 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2712-92:
(6*2)+(5*7)+(4*1)+(3*2)+(2*9)+(1*2)=77
77 % 10 = 7
So 2712-92-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

CF3-P(NEt2)2 ALS SCHLUESSELSUBSTANZ FUER CF3-SUBSTITUIERTE PHOSPHANE - DIREKTSYNTHESE UND VERWENDUNG

Volbach, Wolfgang,Ruppert, Ingo

, p. 5509 - 5512 (1983)

For the first time CF3-P(NEt2)2 is easily available by the three component reaction of P(NEt2)3/PCl3/CF3Br.The advantages of the title compound as educt for phosphanes containing one CF3-group are pointed out.

TRIFLUOROMETHYLPHOSPHINYL BIS-TRIAZOLIDES IN THE SYNTHESIS OF TRIFLUOROMETHYLPHOSPHONATE ANALOGUES OF NUCLEOTIDES

Blackburn, G. Michael,Guo, Mao-Jun

, p. 149 - 152 (2007/10/02)

The bis-triazolide of trifluoromethylphosphinic acid is prepared from trifluoromethylphosphorous dibromide, CF3PBr2, and reacted in situ with alcohols. The resulting triazolomonoesters are efficiently hydrolysed and oxidised to give trifluoromethylphosphonate monoesters, as shown for the nucleotide analogues adenosine 5'-O-trifluoromethylphosphonate and thymidine 3'-O-trifluoromethylphosphonate, novel nucleoside esters having a trifluoromethylphosphoryl function.
