Sodium [2-hydroxy-3-mercaptopropane-1-sulphonato(2-)]aurate(1-) is used as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It is administered through injection and has been found to be effective in managing the symptoms of this chronic inflammatory disorder. sodium [2-hydroxy-3-mercaptopropane-1-sulphonato(2-)]aurate(1-) works by inhibiting the function of certain immune cells, thereby reducing inflammation and alleviating pain and swelling associated with rheumatoid arthritis.
