DTSACl may be used for modification of silica.{61} It was used to functionalize Fe3O4/silica?core-shell nanoparticles. {62} DTSACl may be used as a precursor to form silica, 3 and MeMFI zeolite.{63} It acts as a mesopore-generating agent. {64}

General Description

Dimethyloctadecyl[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ammonium chloride (DTSACl) is an organosilane which can be used as a silica precursor. It forms an oil soluble solution that can act as an emulsion stabilizer.

The present invention relates to a quaternary ammonium salt compound with alkoxysilyl group and fibers or fabrics forming covalent bonds thereto. According to the present invention, the quaternary ammonium salt compound shows an antibacterial effect when treating fibers with a hydroxyl group. Especially, when treating to refrigerant functional fibers, the quaternary ammonium salt compound increases an antibacterial effect but has no effect on a refrigerant function.
