Surprising stability toward reductive elimination of diphenylsilane is exhibited by [(C5Me5)Co(SiHPh2)2(H)2] (1), which is a rare example of an organocobalt complex in the +5 oxidation state. This stability likely also accounts for its inactivity as a hydrosilylation catalyst.
