The isolation of two new sesquiterpenes containing the aristolane skeleton, (4R,5S,6R,7S)-aristol-9-en-3-one (1) and (3S,4R,5S,6R,7S)-aristol-9-en-3-ol (2), is reported from the soft coral Lemnalia humesi.The structures were established spectroscopically and confirmed by chemical conversion into (+)-aristol-9-ene (3).
