Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 290-72-2 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 2,9 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 290-72:
(5*2)+(4*9)+(3*0)+(2*7)+(1*2)=62
62 % 10 = 2
So 290-72-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

, p. 12 - 14 (2007/10/02)

Sulfur dichloride adds to vinylic ethers to give 2,6-dichloro-1,4-oxathianes.Dehydrohalogenation of these products leads to the hitherto unknown heterocyclic compounds, 1,4-oxathiin 6 and 3,5-dimethyl-1,4-oxathiin 7 in good overall yields.
