A meso-meso-linked porphyrin dimer 1 bearing four boronic acid groups shows high selectivity for maltotetraose (n = 4) among maltooligosaccharides (n = 1-7), indicating that this class of porphyrins acts as a novel scaffold to design oligosaccharide recep
