SR3335 is a selective inverse agonist of RORα, a type of orphan nuclear receptor. It competitively inhibits the binding of 25-hydroxycholesterol to the ligand binding domain and inhibits constitutive transactivation activity. SR3335 does not affect RORβ, RORγ, farnesoid X receptor, or liver X receptor α. It induces RORα-dependent effects both in vitro and in vivo, altering gene expression and gluconeogenesis.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 293753-05-6 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 2,9,3,7,5 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 293753-05:
(8*2)+(7*9)+(6*3)+(5*7)+(4*5)+(3*3)+(2*0)+(1*5)=166
166 % 10 = 6
So 293753-05-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Background: Despite a massive industry endeavor to develop RORγ-modulators for autoimmune disorders, there has been no indication of efforts to target the close family member RORα for similar indications. This may be due to the misconception that RORα is

MODULATORS OF THE RETINOIC ACID RECEPTOR-RELATED ORPHAN RECEPTORS

-

Page/Page column 6; 45; 46, (2011/10/10)

The invention provides small molecule modulators of retinoic acid receptor-related orphan receptors such as RORα RORβ, or RORγ. Compounds of the invention can be effective modulators at concentrations ineffective to act on LXR receptors, or on other nuclear receptors, or other biological targets. Methods of modulation the RORs and methods of treating metabolic disorders, immune disorders, cancer, and CNS disorders wherein modulation of an ROR is medically indicated are also provided.
