2945-96-2 Usage
Description
Direct Grey D is an organic azo dye with the CAS number 2945-96-2. It is characterized by its green light gray to green and black color, and it is available in the form of a black powder. Direct Grey D is soluble in water, resulting in a violet black solution, and has a solubility of 20 g/L at 80°C. It is also soluble in ethanol, giving a gray light purple color. When mixed with strong sulfuric acid, it turns deep blue-green, and upon dilution, it becomes orange brown and precipitates. The dye solution turns dark brown upon the addition of strong hydrochloric acid, with precipitation, and turns gray light purple upon the addition of concentrated sodium hydroxide solution, also with precipitation.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
Direct Grey D is used as a dye for cellulose fibers, such as cotton or viscose, due to its good dye absorption rate and maximum affinity in the temperature range of 40-80°C. It is not used for printing but can also be used for dyeing silk, PVA, polyamide fiber, and their blended fabrics.
Standard:
The performance standards of Direct Grey D in terms of acid resistance, alkali resistance, light fastness, soaping, water fading, and stain fading are as follows:
Acid Resistance: ISO 2, AATCC 5
Alkali Resistance: ISO 3-4, AATCC 3
Light Fastness: ISO 3, AATCC 3
Soaping: ISO 2, AATCC 3
Water Fading: ISO 2, AATCC 3
Stain Fading: ISO 2, AATCC 3
These standards indicate the dye's performance and resistance to various conditions, making it suitable for use in the textile industry.
Preparation
(a) 4-Nitrobenzenamine diazo, and 2-Amino-4-methylanisole coupling, again diazo, in alkaline conditions and 6-Amino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid?coupling, and then will the nitro reduction for amino; (b) N-(4-aminophenyl)acetamide diazo, and 2-Amino-4-methylanisole close, then diazo, in alkaline conditions and 6-Amino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid acid hydrolysis, then three amino acetylcholine.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 2945-96-2 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,9,4 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2945-96:
(6*2)+(5*9)+(4*4)+(3*5)+(2*9)+(1*6)=112
112 % 10 = 2
So 2945-96-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
