PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight device capable of easily checking whether set optical sheets are removed or not, and checking an order of lamination. SOLUTION: The backlight device comprises a support plate, a light guide plate 30 arranged on a front surface side of the support plate and emitting light from a light source introduced from an end surface to a front surface, a first optical sheet 40, a second optical sheet 30, and a third optical sheet 51 sequentially laminated on a front surface side of the light guide plate 30. The third optical sheet 51 includes a window part 52 on a lower end. In a laminated state of the first optical sheet 40, the second optical sheet 50, and the third optical sheet 51 in this order, a part of the first optical sheet 40 appears from the window part 52, and a part of the second optical sheet 50 appears from the window part 52 while covering the first optical sheet 40.
