Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 2982-92-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,9,8 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2982-92:
(6*2)+(5*9)+(4*8)+(3*2)+(2*9)+(1*2)=115
115 % 10 = 5
So 2982-92-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis and antimicrobial activity of 1-aryl-2-amino-3-(4-arylthiazol- 2-yl)/(benzothiazol-2-yl)guanidines

Lakhan, Ram,Sharma, Bimal Prasad,Shukla, Bishwa Nath

, p. 331 - 337 (2007/10/03)

The synthesis of fifteen new 1-aryl-2-amino-3-(4-arylthiazol-2- yl)/(benzothiazol-2-yl)guanidines is described. They were screened for their antimicrobial susceptibility by the standard disc diffusion method of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the activities compared with that of standard strain of Escherichia coli NCTC 10418. The sensitive aminoguanidines were further subjected to the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) test. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A.
