AMMONIUM O,O-DIISOPROPYLTHIOPHOSPHATE is an organophosphate compound that functions as a cholinesterase inhibitor, disrupting the enzyme responsible for breaking down the neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the nervous system. This leads to overstimulation of cholinergic receptors and can cause severe symptoms, making it a highly hazardous chemical that requires careful handling and strict regulations.

29918-57-8 Usage

Uses

Used in Pesticide Industry:
AMMONIUM O,O-DIISOPROPYLTHIOPHATE is used as a pesticide for its ability to inhibit cholinesterase, which results in the disruption of the nervous system in pests. This action makes it an effective agent for controlling and eliminating unwanted insects in agricultural settings. However, due to its high toxicity, it must be used with caution and proper protective measures to minimize environmental and human health risks.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 29918-57-8 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,9,9,1 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 29918-57:
(7*2)+(6*9)+(5*9)+(4*1)+(3*8)+(2*5)+(1*7)=158
158 % 10 = 8
So 29918-57-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

SYNTHESIS AND TRIBOCHEMICAL BEHAVIOUR OF SOME MONOTHIOPHOSPHORIC ACID DERIVATIVES

Zinke, Horst,Schumacher, Rolf

, p. 315 - 322 (2007/10/02)

Diisopropylphosphite reacts, with sulphur and ammonia to form ammonium monothiophosphoric acid-diisopropylester which, by subsequent reaction with different monochloroacetic acid esters, yields the corresponding monothiophosphoric-acid-O,O-diisopropyl-S-carboalkoximethylesters.These compounds show different wear- and friction-reduction properties in lubricating oils. The tribochemical activity at higher temperatures increases with the chain length of the carboxylic ester group.Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) of the worn metal surface shows that the wear reducing properties correspond with the phosphorus content in the metal surface produced by tribofragmentation of the monothiophosphates.A possible explanation of this effect is discussed. Key words: Diisopropylphosphite; monothiophosphoric-acid-O,O-diisopropyl-S-carboalkoximethylesters; lubricating oils; Auger electron spectroscopy; wear; tribofragmentation.
