Phenoxatellurine action on α-halogenoacyl halides

Phenoxatellurine reacts with -halogenoacyl halides by heating and leads to 10,10-dihalogeno-phenoxatellurines and ketenes. 10,10-Dihalogenophenoxatellurines are formed in high yields, proving that the dehalogenation reaction is very advanced. The formed ketenes were captured, in low yields, as the corresponding anilides, in an ethereal solution containing aniline. By thin layer chromatography these anilides as well as other reaction products were evidenced.
