Lawesson's reagent (LR, 1) reacted with 3-(o-hydroxy-, o-amino- and o-methylamino-substituted)phenyl-4-hydroxy(phenylamino)-5-mercapto(methylthio)-1 ,2,4-triazoles 2a-f and 4a-f to afford the fused systems 3a-f and 5a-f, respectively. A similar treatment of 1 with 3-(o-hydroxy-, o-amino- and o-methylamino-substituted)phenyl-5-mercapto(benzylthio)-1,2,4-triazoles 6a-cand 8a-c gave the condensed systems 7a-cand 9a-c, respectively.
