PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification method of alicyclic monoolefin ester, in which method the high-purity alicyclic monoolefin ester useful as a polymerizable monomer for forming a crosslinked resin molding to be used as an insulating material or the like of electronic equipment, and to provide a production method of the alicyclic monoolefin ester. SOLUTION: The purification method of alicyclic monoolefin ester comprises a step of cleaning the water-immiscible organic solvent solution containing the alicyclic monoolefin ester of formula (1) (in which R1-R3 are each H or a 1-6C substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group independently; R4 is a 2-6C substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group; r1 and r2 are each H or a 1-6C alkyl group independently; n1 is an integer of 0-12; it does not matter if the groups shown by -C(r1)(r2)- are the same or different from one another when n1 is equal to or larger than 2; n2 is an integer of 0-2) by using a basic compound aqueous solution of pH 10-13.
