The aziridinolysis of (NPCl2)3 and (NPCl2)2NSOCl proceeds both via a geminal and non-geminal pattern, whereas (NPCl2)2NSOPh reacts almost exclusively via a geminal pathway.The presence of a p-amino group (pyrrolidino, piperidino or morpholino) reduces the reactivity of the phosphorus centre concerned.
