7-Silanorbornane, also known as 7-(trimethylsilyl)norbornane, is an organosilicon compound with the molecular formula C10H19Si. It is a cyclic, seven-membered ring structure with a trimethylsilyl group (Si(CH3)3) attached to the seventh carbon atom. 7-Silanorbornane is a colorless liquid with a density of 0.84 g/cm3 and a boiling point of 180°C. 7-Silanorbornane is used as a reagent in organic synthesis, particularly in the formation of silyl ethers and as a protecting group for alcohols.
