5-Aryl-2-(p-butoxyphenyl)-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexahydrobenzo[a]phenanthridin-4-ones were synthesized for the first time by condensation of N-arylmethylene-2-naphthylamines with 5-(p-butoxyphenyl)-1,3-cyclohexanedione. Their IR, UV, 1H NMR, and mass spectra were studied.
