Method for preparing 4-biphenyl acetic acid

The invention discloses a method for preparing high-purity 4-biphenyl acetic acid and belongs to the technical field of drug synthesis. The synthetic route specifically comprises the following two steps: (a) enabling a compound 2-chlorophenylacetophenone to act with 1,2-ethanediol so as to produce a ketal intermediate; and (b) directly producing the 4-biphenyl acetic acid from the intermediate in the presence of zinc acetate and cuprous iodide. The preparation method disclosed by the invention is low in price and readily available, the reaction route is high in yield, the reaction conditions are mild, the operation is simple, the production cost is low, and the method is suitable for industrial production. The total yield is 80% or higher, the prepared 4-biphenyl acetic acid does not need to be refined, and the purity reaches 99.5% or higher.
