The O-alkyl ethers of oximes, which are always present among the products from oxidation of alkoxyamines under mild conditions, must be regarded as the result from rearrangement of the intermediate alkoxynitrenes to nitroso compounds and oximes with conversion of the latter into the corresponding ethers by the action of an excess of the alkoxyamine.
