Lithium, (1,1-diphenylhexyl)-, also known as lithium diphenylhexyllithium, is an organolithium compound with the chemical formula C18H22Li. It is a colorless, highly reactive, and moisture-sensitive solid, often used as a strong base and a nucleophile in organic synthesis. Lithium, (1,1-diphenylhexyl)- is particularly useful in the formation of carbon-carbon bonds, such as in the Negishi coupling reaction, and in the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals and organic compounds. Due to its reactivity, it must be handled with extreme care under an inert atmosphere, typically using dry, oxygen-free solvents like tetrahydrofuran or diethyl ether.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 3462-81-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 3,4,6 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 3462-81:
(6*3)+(5*4)+(4*6)+(3*2)+(2*8)+(1*1)=85
85 % 10 = 5
So 3462-81-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

CIRCULAR DICHROISM INDUCED ON ARYLMETHYL CARBANIONS

Okamoto, Yoshio,Takeda, Takahiro,Hatada, Koichi

, p. 757 - 760 (1984)

Circular dichroism spectra of fluorethyllithium, benzyllithium, diphenylmethyllithium, triphenylmethyllithium, and 1,1-diphenylhexyllithium were measured in the presence of chiral tertiary diamines, (-)-sparteine, (+)- and (-)-2,3-dimethoxy-1,4-bis(dimethylamino)butane.All the carbanions showed induced circular dichroism (ICD) in nonpolar mediums.
