Propanoyl fluoride, 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoro-3-(heptafluoropropoxy)-, also known as 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropanoyl fluoride or C5H3F9O, is a fluorinated organic compound with the molecular formula C5H3F9O. It is a colorless liquid with a molecular weight of 246.07 g/mol. Propanoyl fluoride, 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoro-3-(heptafluoropropoxy)- is characterized by its unique structure, featuring a propanoyl group (a three-carbon chain with a carbonyl group at one end) and a heptafluoropropoxy group (a three-carbon chain with seven fluorine atoms). Due to its highly fluorinated nature, it exhibits properties such as high reactivity, thermal stability, and low surface tension, making it useful in various industrial applications, including the production of fluoropolymers, refrigerants, and as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of other fluorinated compounds. However, it is also considered hazardous due to its potential toxicity and reactivity, requiring proper handling and safety measures during its use.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 356-61-6 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 3,5 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 356-61:
(5*3)+(4*5)+(3*6)+(2*6)+(1*1)=66
66 % 10 = 6
So 356-61-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

THERMOGRAPHIC INVESTIGATION OF THE DECARBOXYLATION OF SALTS OF PERFLUORINATED CARBOXYLIC ACIDS

Gubanov, V. A.,Zevakin, I. A.,Gurari, V. E.,Tumanova, A. V.,Dolgopol'skii, I. M.,et al.

, p. 1409 - 1412 (2007/10/02)

The thermal stability of the salts of metals of the first group with perfluorinated carboxylic acids was investigated by a differential thermal method. The calculations of the A, E, and n parameters were made on a Minsk 32 computer. For the investigated series of salts the reactions has first-order kinetics. In the case of the pyrolysis of the salts of perfluoromethoxypropionic acid the yield of perfluoromethyl vinyl ether depends not only on the cation of the salt but is determined to a significant degree by the structural features of the carbon skeleton.Tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoromethoxypropionyl fluoride were detected as side products.A mechanism for the process, which explains the formation of the main reaction products, was proposed and confirmed experimentally.
