General Description

2-amino-3,5-dihydro-4H-pyrimido[4,5-b][1,4]thiazine-4,6(7H)-dione is a chemical compound also known as thiazinamide. It is a heterocyclic compound containing a thiazine ring and a pyrimidine ring. Thiazinamide has various pharmaceutical properties and is used as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of tuberculosis. It acts as an antimicrobial agent by inhibiting the synthesis of mycolic acids in the cell wall of the tuberculosis-causing bacterium. Additionally, thiazinamide has been studied for its potential use in the treatment of cancer due to its ability to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
