To provide an organometallic complex by which red-color light emission can be obtained. In addition, to provide an organometallic complex with high light emission efficiency. Further, to provide an organometallic complex by which red-color light emission with high luminous efficiency can be obtained. An organometallic complex having a structure represented by the following general formula (G1) is provided. (In the formula, A represents an aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 25 carbon atoms. Further, Z represents any one of hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or an aryl group having 6 to 25 carbon atoms. By the coupling reaction of mono- and dichloropyrazines with trimethylaluminum in the presence of a palladium catalyst, the corresponding mono- and dimethylpyrazines were prepared in excellent yields.
