A new approach to perfluoroalkylated compounds based on cross-metathesis between perfluoropropenes and terminal alkenes has been developed. The reaction is catalysed with high efficiency and selectivity by the Hoveyda-Grubbs second-generation catalyst under mild reaction conditions.
