39084-87-2 Usage
Physical form
White, crystalline solid
Odor
Slightly musty
Usage
Widely used as an herbicide to control the growth of weeds and grasses
Application
Primarily applied to the soil in non-crop areas such as industrial sites, railroads, and roadsides
Mode of action
Inhibits cell division and disrupts protein synthesis in plants, leading to their eventual death
Mammalian toxicity
Low toxicity to mammals
Environmental impact
Low environmental impact, but can persist in soil for an extended period of time, posing potential risks to non-target organisms and groundwater contamination
Precautions
Important to use with caution and follow recommended application guidelines to minimize its environmental impact.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 39084-87-2 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 3,9,0,8 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 39084-87:
(7*3)+(6*9)+(5*0)+(4*8)+(3*4)+(2*8)+(1*7)=142
142 % 10 = 2
So 39084-87-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Dichloromeldrum's acid is introduced as a bench-stable, nonvolatile reagent for the dichloroacetylation of anilines and alkyl amines to produce α,α-dichloroacetamides, which are important motifs for medicinal chemistry. Products are formed in good to excellent yields with reagent grade solvents, and, as the only byproducts are acetone and CO2, no column chromatography is required. Thus, this reagent is practical, efficient, and green for the dichloroacetylation of primary amines.
