S-(3-amino-3-oxopropyl)cysteine, also known as 3-dehydroalanine-cysteine or 3-amino-3-oxopropyl cysteine, is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C6H11NO3S. It is a derivative of the amino acid cysteine, where the thiol group (-SH) is replaced by a 3-amino-3-oxopropyl group. S-(3-amino-3-oxopropyl)cysteine is of interest in the field of biochemistry and medicinal chemistry, as it can be found in certain peptides and may have potential applications in drug development. The structure of S-(3-amino-3-oxopropyl)cysteine features a cyclic disulfide bridge, which is characteristic of cysteine-containing peptides, and the presence of the 3-amino-3-oxopropyl group introduces additional functional groups that can participate in various chemical reactions and interactions.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 3958-15-4 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 3,9,5 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 3958-15:
(6*3)+(5*9)+(4*5)+(3*8)+(2*1)+(1*5)=114
114 % 10 = 4
So 3958-15-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Borax as an efficient metal-free catalyst for hetero-Michael reactions in an aqueous medium

Hussain, Sahid,Bharadwaj, Saitanya K.,Chaudhuri, Mihir K.,Kalita, Harjyoti

, p. 374 - 378 (2007)

Borax, a naturally occurring material, very efficiently catalyzed the conjugate addition of thiols, dithiols and amines to α,β-unsaturated ketones, nitriles, amides, aldehydes and esters in an aqueous medium to afford the corresponding Michael adducts in good yields at room temperature. Recycling of the catalyst and scaling up of the reactions are important attributes of this catalysis. The reactions of thiols and dithiols were relatively more facile than those of the corresponding amines. Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 2007.
