Nonlinear optical properties of dehydrobenzo[18]annulenes: Expanded two-dimensional dipolar and octupolar NLO chromophores

The optical and second-order nonlinear optical response of a series of donor - acceptor substituted dehydrobenzo[18]annulenes is reported. The resultant β values, determined by the HRS method, are comparable or superior to that for DANS.
