Preparation and characterization of mixed glycolate-salicylaldiminate derivatives of antimony(III)

Reactions in 1:1 molar ratio of OGOSb(OPri) (where G = CHMeCH2CMe2 and CMe2CH2CH2CMe2) with Narylsalicylaldimines (LH = HOC6H4CH=NAr (where Ar = Ph, 2,6-R2C6H3 (R = Me, Et, Pri), 2,4,6-Me3C6H2)) in benzene afford new cyclic compounds of antimony containing salicylaldiminate and 2-methylpentane-2,4-diolate and 2,5-dimethylhexane-2,5-diolate groups. Characterization of all these derivatives have been carried out by elemental analysis, molecular weight determinations, IR and 1H NMR spectroscopic studies.
